Then:
Before 1863, non white's were slaves, they had to do field work, day and night just to stay in a house and get a little bit of food. They we're allowed 'extras' such as cars, brand new clothes, medicine, baby necessaties, and so much more. they were treated like crap, given separate schools, restrooms, and drinking fountains. They had to stand or sit in the back of the bus, we beat if they went into a 'whites only' restaurants, and even got crosses burnt on their front lawn. They were shot if they looked at a white the wrong way, and white's would throw bricks through their windows.
Now:
Now, non whites are still mis-treated. They are stereo-typed based on their color, believed all to be the same, accused of stealing, rape, and so much more. They are no longer separated, school, bus, and store wise, but many people still watch them closely and don't trust them. They get dirty looks, and get avoided on the streets. Too many people judge the 'book by its cover' instead of opening it up and seeing what the person is like on the inside.
