T3-Civil Rights

The civil rights movement of the 1950's and 1960's address the failures of reconstruction by it being a 60 year struggle, there was still racial segregation, 17 states were segregated, and 16 desegregated. Segregated education was poor, dirty, and limited, they were also forbidden to teach blacks. The brown VS. Board case was involving Linda Brown, they tried to enroll children in school but the school refused, the browns argued that it was separate but equal. The case seen time throughout the year. the verdict was on May 17, 1954 segregated schools, even if they contain equal quality of supplies and faulty, was seen as unconstitutional. The after math is desegregated peacefully, violence, but it inspired many other acts.
